Scecina alumnus will be Our Lady of Lourdes’ next principal

Scecina alumnus Angie (Leffler) Therber ’84 will be the next principal of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. Our Lady of Lourdes is an East Deanery parish and a member of the Eastside Catholic School Partnership with Scecina Memorial High School.

Mrs. Therber also taught English at Scecina from 1988 to 1994. She has been Scecina’s girls tennis coach since 2015. Her husband, Joe, is president of Scecina. They raised their five children at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.

“I deeply appreciate that you will share with me your most precious gifts and the most fulfilling part of my vocation – your children!” Mrs. Therber wrote to the people of the parish in her introduction letter as the new principal.

Mrs. Therber has more than 25 years of experience as a teacher and administrator.
In 1994, she left Scecina to stay home with her five children and then returned to the classroom as a middle school English and Catholic Theology teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes from 2003 – 2017. In 2017, she moved to Holy Cross Central School as the assistant principal.

Angie earned her bachelor of science degree in 1988 from Butler University in Secondary Education with a major in English Teaching and a minor in Athletic Training. She also earned Indiana University Graduate Certificates in Teaching Writing and Teaching Literature, and a masters of arts in English.
