Service Capstone

Scecina’s Service Capstone is a project-based service program that incorporates Catholic Social Teaching into the service opportunities offered to Scecina students. Of the eight semesters a student attends Scecina, the first seven will include participation in a service project or service-based learning associated with one of the seven tenets of Catholic Social Teaching (CST). In their final semester at Scecina, students will reflect upon and share their service experiences through either a presentation or dissertation.

Service-based learning incorporates the service opportunity into curriculum. Teachers have the option to weave service into their existing coursework. This allows for students to meet the requirements of the service-based learning program for Indiana’s new Graduation Pathways.
