Hagen joins Ben’s Ranch board

Scecina Director of School Counseling Patty Hagen recently was elected to the Board of Directors of Ben’s Ranch Foundation.
Ben’s Ranch Foundation connects teens struggling with mental health challenges to paid internships with farms, stables, and equine therapy facilities. The jobs complement medical therapies by helping give teens purpose and exposure to the healing powers of animals and nature.
Ms. Hagen joined the Scecina counseling staff in November. She holds an M.S. in School Counseling from Butler University, an M.A. in Education from Ball State University, and a B.A. in Business Administration from Saint Mary’s College.
Ms. Hagen also works as the Ben’s Ranch Foundation case manager and helps place interns with host farms and stables.
She also has worked as a certified equine specialist teaming up with mental health professionals providing Equine Assisted Therapy to children and adolescents seeking therapy for mental health.
