Scecina’s capital campaign reaches $5.8 million

Spread the love

By President Joe Therber

This week, I want to celebrate two recent Scecina successes with you.

First, the Our Faith, Our Journey, Our Time capital campaign has surpassed the $5.8 million mark in commitments. We are so grateful for everyone’s prayers, service, and financial support, regardless of the amount.

Tony Schmoll, Class of 1977 and a current Scecina English teacher, supports Scecina’s capital campaign.

If you have not yet been able to participate in the campaign, please consider doing so. Your investment, when joined with that of fellow alumni and friends, will take Scecina to new heights for our current students, future students, and the wider community.  Learn more about the campaign at scecina.org/campaign.

We have formed an “Operation Homestretch” committee to provide wisdom and person-power as we now seek to exceed the original $6 million goal and accomplish even more improvements on campus. Please stay tuned for more information about Operation Homestretch and our plans for the future!

Second, Mrs. Amy Fix, Scecina’s English as a New Language teacher, recently won the St. Theodora Guerin Excellence in Education Award from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Put more simply, Amy is the Teacher of the Year among 2,000 archdiocesan Catholic school teachers!

Many times, I have witnessed Amy’s profound commitment to every student’s success. She nurtures students and motivates them toward their potential.

Scecina has numerous teachers, administrators, and support staff like Amy who “go the extra mile” routinely. In the words of Father Thomas Scecina, this school is a community of people who “give that little extra.”

Go Crusaders!

Joe Therber

Scecina President
