Spread the love

April 25, 2023

Greetings, Scecina Community!

Recently, as you may know, Mr. David Dellacca, who has served as Scecina Memorial High School principal during the last four years, announced his resignation as of June 30, 2023. I appreciate Mr. Dellacca’s commitment, compassion, and collaboration throughout his tenure. His faith, values, and care for all students are among his greatest strengths.

Through a competitive search to hire Scecina’s next principal, I have received excellent input from an interview team of seasoned and committed Scecina educators, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Office of Catholic Schools, and several colleagues in education. As a result, I am pleased to announce that our next principal will be Dr. Peg Dispenzieri as of July 1, 2023.

Dr. Dispenzieri holds a bachelor of science degree in biology from John Carroll University, a master of education degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Ph. D. degree in K-12 instructional leadership from Walden University.

Her professional experience includes:

  • Eight years as a high school science teacher at Bishop Chatard High School in the Indianapolis North Deanery.
  • Six years as principal of Nativity Catholic School in the Indianapolis South Deanery.
  • Eight years as assistant principal/director of academics at Guerin Catholic High School in Noblesville (Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana).
  • Five years as Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana.
  • One year as Director of Transition to Teaching Program (Secondary) at Franklin College in Franklin, IN.

Dr. Dispenzieri and her husband, Charlie, are members of St. Pius X Parish in the Indianapolis North Deanery. I am pleased to welcome them to the Scecina Community. Her experience and commitment to develop each student as a whole person and child of God will fit perfectly with our mission at Scecina. I look forward to collaborating with Dr. Dispenzieri as our community embarks on the next chapters in Scecina’s forward-looking and powerful story.

Upon accepting the invitation to serve in this important ministry, Dr. Dispenzieri said, “I am honored to accept the position of principal at Scecina Memorial High School, and I am excited for the chance to work and pray with the students, staff, and school community! I have always appreciated Saint Mother Theodore Guerin’s instruction to ‘Love the children first, then teach them.’ In this way, we share in the mission of the Church to build communities of faith through excellence in academics, opportunities to develop unique talents, and service to each other. I look forward to meeting everyone.”

More information regarding opportunities for our students, families, and staff to meet Dr. Dispenzieri will be forthcoming this summer.

Thank you for your unwavering support of Scecina, and please join me in praying that the Lord will continue to bless and inspire all that we do.

Sincerely,

Joe Therber
President
