Class of 2023 valedictorian and salutatorian

Scecina Memorial High School is pleased and proud to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2023.

Mason Beriault

Mason Beriault is this year’s valedictorian. He is the son of Justin Beriault and Niki Matherly. He is a Holy Spirit Catholic Church parishioner and a Holy Spirit Catholic School graduate.

Through fours at Scecina, Mason has achieved a 4.29-grade point average. Mason is the student body president for the 2022-23 school year and a member of the National Honor Society. In addition, Mason is a student ambassador and part of the Academic Super Bowl team.

In addition to academics and clubs, Mason played varsity football and basketball. Mason was recently named All-City, Academic All-Conference, IFCA 2A Academic All-State, IFCA Region 7 All-Star Team, and Indianapolis Colts IFCA Academic All-Star for the 2022 football season.

Mason volunteers at Merciful Help Center Food Pantry in Carmel and has a small lawncare business.

 

Andrew Causemaker

Andrew Causemaker is this year’s salutatorian. He is the son of Dan and Andi Causemaker. He is an Our Lady of Lourdes parishioner and a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. Andrew has a 4.23-grade point average.

Andrew is a member of the Academic Super Bowl math team, Red and Gold Going Green, and the National Honor Society. He will play the role of Shrek in the spring musical on March 17 and 18.

He played football and will finish his athletic career this spring with one more golf season. He was awarded Academic All-Conference, IFCA 2A Academic All-State, and the Mental Attitude Award for the 2022 football season.

Andrew also volunteers his time as a math tutor.

Scecina’s commencement takes place Friday, May 26. More to come about these two rising stars!
