Admissions Process

The steps below are requirements for students entering Scecina. All steps must be completed. 

Transfer students: Transfers will be decided on a case-by-case basis. There is no application fee for transfer students, and a placement test is not required. Transfer students must complete Steps 1, 2, and 4.

Step 1: Submit An Application

To apply for admission, families can click here to create an online portal on SchoolAdmin and submit an online application. There is no application fee. 

  • Applications for Class of 2026 Open: September 1, 2021
  • Early Admission Deadline: November 4, 2021

Step 2:  Submit Academic Records and Teacher Recommendation

Upload the following items to your application checklist inside SchoolAdmin: 

  • Most recent report card  
  • 7th-grade report card (incoming freshmen)
  • High school transcript (transfer students)
  • Standardized test scores  
  • Attendance records 
  • Discipline records 
  • Birth certificate  
  • Immunization records  
  • Home Language Survey
  • IEP or 504 plan (if applicable)  
  • WIDA or LAS Links scores (if applicable) 
  • Teacher Recommendation

Step 3: Take High School Placement Test (Incoming freshmen only)

All students applying for freshman admission to Scecina are required to take the HSPT exam. We offer the test on Saturday mornings.

The test dates for the Class of 2026 are:

  • October 2, 2021 at 8 a.m.
  • November 13, 2021, at 8:00 a.m.
  • December 4, 2021, at 8:00 a.m.
  • January 8, 2022, at 8:00 a.m.

If you take the HSPT elsewhere, you can upload your results to your application checklist. Results must be from the eighth grade.

Step 4: Student Interview

The interview requirement is waived for students who: attended a Catholic school for at least the previous 2 years with no behavior issues or academic concerns, as measured by grades, teacher recommendation, and/or standardized test scores. 

Student interviews can be scheduled on weekdays between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. If a family is unable to make this time, call the Admissions Department at 317.352.3287 or email Miriam Medina at mmedina@scecina.org to make alternative arrangements. 

Step 5: Admissions Decision

Students will be notified via email about acceptance to Scecina. An acceptance packet will also be delivered to the student’s school or home.

  • Early Admission (November 4, 2021) decisions will be announced on Thanksgiving week.

Step 6: Enroll!

Once you have been accepted, an enrollment checklist will appear inside your SchoolAdmin account. Please confirm your intention to enroll by completing the registration form.

Students who enroll by March 31, 2022, are eligible for a $3,000 Early Bird Scholarship.
