Crusaders have become more creative because of COVID-19. Whether it is how teaching and learning happen, how lunch is served, or celebrating schoolwide Mass, the faculty, staff, and students have found new, enriching, and safe ways to recreate Crusader life.

The Admissions Office at Scecina is no different. Traditional fall student recruitment activities such as Open House, school tours, and Shadow Days were reimagined. We created new recruitment events to showcase the opportunities Scecina offers students. For example, “Zoom Through Admissions” is a new virtual series for prospective families that touched on subjects such as financial aid, athletic opportunities, and navigating the admissions process.

Scecina’s message is “You Can Go Anywhere from Here.” Each Crusader student can accomplish his or her college, career, and life goals, and the path starts at Scecina.

The Admissions Office enlisted Chris Baker Multimedia to create a promotional video based on this theme. Chris has extensive experience with the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA). He was assisted by Spirit Juice, a Chicago-based Catholic video production team.

Emily Vasquez ‘22 played the lead role in the video.

“It was such an amazing and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Emily said. “I’m so glad that I could be a part of such a cool project, and I hope everyone who watched it loved it!”

The filming took place over two days in October. “You Can Go Anywhere from Here” premiered at Open House on November 5. The two-minute video is featured on the Scecina website homepage and is regularly featured in marketing and communication ad campaigns that reach prospective students and their families.
