Scecina’s Class of 2021 academic leaders
The Scecina Class of 2021 valedictorian and salutatorian have succeeded in class, played sports each year, and taken advantage of their opportunities at Scecina.
Olivia Kriech Smith is the valedictorian. She is the daughter of Ruth and Jason Smith, a parishioner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and a graduate of Holy Spirit Catholic School.
Through four years at Scecina, she has achieved a 4.39 grade point average.
Olivia remains undecided about her college plans. At Scecina she has been involved in Student Council, Student Ambassadors, and National Honor Society. She played basketball and soccer all four years and has been on the Crusaders tennis team for two years.
“Throughout my time at Scecina, I have learned the importance of faith, perseverance, and a strong community,” she said. “These values, along with my lifelong friends, are things I will forever cherish.
Daniel Stephen Linn is the Class of 2021 salutatorian. He is the son of Catherine and Chad Linn, a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. He has a 4.29 grade point average.
In the fall, Daniel will attend the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington.
He’s been a member of the Crusaders for Life Club and Student Ambassadors.
Daniel played varsity baseball for four years and basketball for two years.
“In my time at Scecina, I was welcomed into a strong community that desired to make me better as a student, a person, and a Catholic,” he said. “I will never forget all that Scecina has done for me.”
Scecina’s commencement takes place on Friday, May 28.
