Scecina Memorial Announces Class of 2025 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
Mariangela Gascon, daughter of Francisco and Laura Gascon, is a Holy Spirit Catholic Church parishioner and a Holy Spirit Catholic School graduate. She maintains a 4.22 GPA and plans to study criminal justice at Indiana University Bloomington. At Scecina, Mariangela serves as a Student Ambassador and is an active member of the Spanish Club, National Honor Society, and the soccer team. She was recently recognized for her academic achievements by the College Board’s National Recognition Programs and received an award from the National First-Generation Program.
Peter Certo, son of David and Megan Certo, is a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and an Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School graduate. He holds a 4.15 GPA and plans to pursue electrical and computer engineering, though he has not finalized his college choice. A dedicated leader, Peter has been actively involved in the National Honor Society, Student Government, Student Ambassadors, and STEM Club. He competes in cross country, track and field, and swimming as a talented multi-sport athlete. He holds Scecina swimming records and has made regional cross-country tournament appearances.
