Scecina Community shows spirit for 2nd annual Giving Day

Spread the love

I am excited to announce we raised $33,011  during Scecina Giving Day and went above our goal!

All gifts received on Scecina Giving Day support academic scholarships, athletics, and underclass retreats.

God has blessed our community with so many generous and caring people.

A special thank you to George Newhart ’60, Dr. Sheila (McNelis) Gamache ’79 and her husband, Bob Bates, and Col. Dan Bruno ’77 and his wife, Kitty, for their matching gifts included in the above total.

At the end of the day, George commented: “I was so moved by the generosity of our Scecina Community that I will contribute another $5,000 for Scecina Giving Day to raise our total from $28,011 to $33,011. Thank you, and go Crusaders!”

It was truly a team effort, and we are so grateful for the 147 donors who helped make it happen. It was fun watching the interaction on social media. Many alumni reflected on their own good memories from Scecina and offered words of encouragement to current students.

I hope you had fun celebrating Scecina on Giving Day!

Thank you once again. It means so much to our Scecina community and the Eastside of Indianapolis.
