Matthew Hentz received the 2024 John J. Henninger Memorial Award for Christian Service for his outstanding commitment to serving others. Matthew was honored at the Baccalaureate Mass held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on May 23, 2024. 

Matthew’s brother, James Hentz ’19 (pictured), also received this prestigious award. 

In a heartwarming moment, Matthew is joined by his brother James, mother Cheryl, father Joe, and Judy Nichols, the wife of the late John J. Henninger. 

The John J. Henninger Memorial Award for Christian Service holds great significance at Scecina Memorial High School. It honors graduating seniors who exemplify dedication to their community and embody the spirit of Christian service. The award is a fitting tribute to the memory of Mr. John Henninger, a beloved figure at the school known for his unwavering commitment to teaching, coaching, and mentoring students. His legacy continues to inspire and uplift the Scecina community.
