David Dellacca named Scecina principal
David Dellacca will become the new principal at Scecina Memorial High School, effective immediately, Scecina President Joe Therber announced on May 20.
Dellacca has been serving as the interim principal at Scecina. He has been with Scecina since July 2014, when he became vice president of technology and helped implement the school’s Technology Plan. In 2018, he took on additional duties as director of curriculum for Scecina.
He becomes the 12th principal in the history of the school, which was founded in 1953.
“David Dellacca is a spiritually mature, student-centered educator who strives daily to collaborate and model the spirit of service and sacrifice for which Scecina is known,” Therber said. “He has worked steadfastly this year in collaboration with our staff and students under conditions that have been both challenging and inspiring.”
Dellacca has a master’s degree in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State University and has completed the school building level administrator program at Marian University. His family and he are members of St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield.
“I am truly excited and humbled to serve Scecina’s students, teachers, and staff in this capacity. I thank Mr. Therber for his support and for this opportunity,” Dellacca said. “Guided by Christ, I will continue to use all my God-given talents to the best of my ability to serve our Scecina community.”
