President Joe Therber: Another milestone for Scecina’s capital campaign
As you know, Scecina Memorial High School has embarked on its first capital campaign, Our Faith, Our Journey, Our Time. When we kicked off the public phase less than three months ago, the campaign was just over $4.5 million pledged toward the $6 million goal.
I’m very pleased to announce that we have reached $5.3 million in pledges. This is a monumental achievement for Scecina. By the end of December, our goal is to have raised $5.6 million in pledges toward the $6 million goal. I am excited for Scecina’s future and truly appreciate your support. Thanks to all who have participated.
One of the campaign’s six priorities is the construction, for student safety and security purposes, of a new weight room inside the school building. The project started in late summer on the lower level of the school, and now the room is almost complete. We’re awaiting the arrival of the equipment in the next week or two. We will keep you informed about plans for the room’s opening. These are your campaign gifts at work for our students and the Scecina Community, and we want you to see the results!
We are in the midst of Advent as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ. Advent is a very rich and powerful time in the Catholic Church year and often an extremely busy time with secular holiday parties and preparations. I pray you find some time to be still and experience the peace and joy of Jesus during this Advent season.
Peace,
Joe Therber
