Class of 2024 valedictorian and salutatorian

Scecina Memorial High School is pleased and proud to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2024.

Matthew Hentz

Matthew Henz is this year’s valedictorian. He is the son of Joe and Cheryl Hentz. He is a St. Michael Catholic Church parishioner and a St. Michael Catholic School graduate.

Through fours at Scecina, Matthew has achieved a 4.29 grade point average. Matthew is a member of the National Honor Society, Gaming Club, Red and Gold Going Green, and the Academic Super Bowl team. Matthew is a student ambassador and also participates in the fall play and spring musical.

In addition to academics and clubs, Matthew participated in cross country and swimming and will finish his spring sports season competing in track and field. Matthew was named Academic All-Conference in cross country for the 2023 season. Matthew plans to attend Indiana University Bloomington in the fall.

 


Max Krause 

Max Krause is this year’s salutatorian. He is the son of John and Sally Krause. He is an Our Lady of Lourdes parishioner and a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. Max has a 4.25 grade point average.

Max is a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers as a student ambassador. Max is also very active in Scecina’s theatre program.

Max played tennis and was named All-Conference, All-City, and Academic All-Conference for the 2023 season. Max plans to attend Indiana University Bloomington in the fall.

Scecina’s commencement takes place Friday, May 24. More to come about these two rising stars!
